Riverboat to Memphis

This riverboat was the Mayflower which was a high pressure steamer that was in use from St Louis to New Orleans on the Mississippi River before the war. Richard took a steamer to Memphis.

This is a map of Arkansas made between 1862 and 1864 in the Library of Congress. Richard lived in the Southwest corner of it near Texas and Indian Territory (Oklahoma).
